Starting the idle loop:

There is a lot of information currently in INSTALL.CMU, but there is one other little detail that you have to get right for adequate performance (that perhaps should be mentioned in INSTALL.CMU..)

Put

(mp::startup-idle-and-top-level-loops)

as the last line in your site-init.lisp

If you don't do this, McCLIM will appear very sluggish, though will still work.
