Theming:

There are several ways to change the look of McCLIM.

Gtkairo:

• The Gtkairo backend by David Lichteblau is beautiful and gives you native GTK widgets. You can change the theme like any other GTK application, and cairo gives you antialiasing. However, gtkairo doesn't have copy/paste support yet, and is younger than the CLX backend.
• Change fonts: see Gtkairo Configuration
• Toggle antialiasing and medium type (undocumented): see Gtkairo Configuration

CLX:

• Freetype bindings: If you like antialiased text, look into enabling the freetype support.
• Switching fonts: Change the default font mappings. Instructions at: http://www-jcsu.jesus.cam.ac.uk/~csr21/papers/lightning/lightning.html#htoc3.
• Pixie Frame Manager: use the alternate CLX theme in "Looks/pixie.lisp". Activate like this:

• Default fonts: Try changing the value of clim-clx::*clx-text-family+face-map* to select different default fonts.

• One way is to change the :background argument of a program's define-application-frame. For the Listener, you would edit mcclim/Apps/Listener/listener.lisp. Look in the define-application-frame function, and see where it lists the panes. The interactor is created here:

  All you have to do is add :background and :foreground arguments to the pane's options. Right below ":type 'listener-interactor-pane", add:

   :background +gray10+ :foreground +white+ 

  Note that the default lisp syntax colors won't look good on black, so you'll want to change them. See below.
